Asia Development Research Institute (ADRI)

Asia Development Research Institute (ADRI) is under the Asia Development Foundation Group and is the only research institute which is actively involved not only in domestic market but also in the international markets especially in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS). ADRI cooperates with various international and regional academic and research institutes and is involved in many research projects related to socio-economy, trade, investment and migration. It is more specialized in informal economy which is not yet fully covered by existing literatures. ADRI’s researches are taking a supportive role in developing pragmatic measures for sustainable development in the GMS. |
| Aggressive pace of development through regional and sub-regional cooperation has various adverse social, economic and environmental impacts on each and every stakeholder. Without proper documentation and research in the GMS (which is mainly composed of underdeveloped and developing countries where availability of reliable statistics is a question mark), it is not possible to address all these issues. ADRI is taking a crucial role in conducting systematic analyses through qualitative and quantitative researches that can be very useful in considering appropriate measures for stability and development. |
| ADRI currently cooperates with the following institutes in conducting collaborative researches and/or capacity building programmes. o Sustainable Mekong Research Network (Sumernet), Stockholm Environmental Institute (SEI-Asia) o Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, University of Tokyo, Japan o Institute for Security and Development Policy, Sweden o Research Institute on Contemporary South East Asia, France o Mekong Institute, Khon Kaen University, Thailand o Institute of Asian Studies, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand o Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, Germany |
